15th Annual St. Patrick’s Celebration at Middlebury College

11 March 2018
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Middlebury College McCullough Student Center

This coming Sunday will feature the 15th-annual St. Patrick‘s Celebration at Middlebury College, with this year’s event highlighting the related traditions of both Ireland and Cape Breton.  The event is free and open to the public (families included).

Instrumental dance tunes and participatory songs will be offered by Pete Sutherland (fiddle, song, banjo), Dominique Dodge (harp, song), Jeremiah McLane(accordion, piano), and Timothy Cumming (pipes, whistles).  There will be several guest artists from the college community as well, to be announced.

After the 1-hour concert, Mary Wesley will teach Cape Breton square dances.  Absolutely everyone is warmly invited to dance, but if you don’t wish to, or aren’t able, you’re equally welcome to hang out and enjoy absorbing the dancing and live music.  As has been the tradition, we’ll finish the event singing ‘The Parting Glass’ all together (lyrics provided).

I can’t think of a better remedy for cabin fever!
