Mark Elliot (guitar and vocals) and Gary Culley (mandolin, guitar and vocals) lead the panoramic Americana band. No strangers to the North Country, the band has infused its latest album, “Gotta Go Outside,” with a celebration of the outdoors. Its songwriting mingles images from mountain summits, camping valleys and kayaking rivers with tales of friendship.
Runaway Home’s members share diverse musical backgrounds and seamlessly blend their sound into strong songs with a rootsy edge. The band’s mantra has been “It’s the music that makes us smile,” and its members have brought their joy to venues like the Dosey Doe Café outside of Houston, the Clayton Opera House in upstate New York, or the Bluebird Café in Nashville, Tennessee.
Their instrumentation attracted Marcia Campbell of Nashville’s WSM Radio, who said, “Runaway Home delivers a gem with their timeless collection of music that takes you to another place. Great songs, strong vocals and sweet harmonies!”
