On the way home from Trad Camp, before packing the instrument away until Peacham Acoustic Music Festival in mid-August, we did our monthly music session on Baird 5 at the UVM Medical Center on 7/31/17. Young Tradition Vermont provides opportunities for young people to participate in, learn and present traditional tunes, songs and dance and supports families with children with life-altering conditions. With the Child Life Department at Vermont Children’s Hospital, young and older friends (Lilli Espenshade & Mark Sustic this time) sing and play music on Baird 5 Pediatrics for listening, singing, and laughing, using fiddles, guitars, banjos, mandolins, ukuleles, voices and more. Families with children on Baird 5 join us once a month in the activity room, or they ask and we come to them in their rooms. The Baird 5 sessions are an important part of the range of activities Young Tradition Vermont helps present.
Next Baird 5 visit is scheduled for 8/21/17.
