More about the Instrument Petting Zoo

The biggest instrument petting zoo installation of 2017 happened on December 1st when 2,000 children attended as part of the Vermont International Festival in Essex Junction. Thanks to zoo keepers Kerry Cullinan, Andy Suntup, Ruth Dennis, Danielle Devlin, Fran Cohen, Nancy Bove, Sarah Francisco, Suzanne Pellerin, and Alyssa Miller.

Being able to interact with an instrument can be a key that opens a door to the world of traditional music and dance for children, which is at the heart of what YTV is about. The Instrument Petting Zoo is designed to facilitate the discovery of instruments, the music they can make, and the dancing that goes with the music.
