Youth Commission concert at Hotel Vermont 8/28/21

The final project/EP release concert for 2020/2021 is a wrap!  The Youth Commission project continues to lead YTV toward joyous possibilities for its programs and activities….. rehearsals, recordings, performances, mentoring, community service.  Thanks Maeve (commissioned artist), Anya, Eme, Ben and Hadley for dedicating the time, energy and focus to making it a successful run since last summer, amidst all the challenges and obstacles, significantly COVID related.

Thanks to those who helped make the 8/28/21 concert possible: John Abair, Tim Weaver and the whole crew at Hotel Vermont, Oliver Scanlon (sound), the Nelson Family Foundation, Mary Wesley, Kate Haughey and others with the Vermont Folklife Center’s Folk Arts Apprenticeship Program, Colin McCaffrey and R. Howard Wooden (CD creation and production), and mentors Pete Sutherland, Moira Smiley and Deb Flanders (including sets at the concert including Pete and Moira).  Thanks especially to the parents and families of group members for their support, understanding, encouragement and patience…..  it could go without saying, but not this time :))

Though the group met its Kickstarter goal just before the concert, there is still have a ways to go to cover production costs.  CDs will continue to be available for sale ($10 each) from group members and through the Kickstarter link (  We only printed 100 CDs – get them while you can!

Hadley was announced as commissioned artist for 2021/2022 at the concert.  More about that in the coming weeks and months, after the current group finishes its final performance and fundraising.  This year’s group has one more performance, Sunday 9/5/21 at 1pm in the Chandler Music Hall for the New World Festival in Randolph.  YTV contest winner Owen Kennedy and co-veteran of the Touring Group will perform at Bethany Church at 1pm, same date, same festival.  Hope to see you there.
