YTV at New World Festival 9/5/21

The New World Festival returns! The 29th edition of Chandler’s NWF will resume as usual this September 5, Labor Day Sunday. The NWF will once again bring the unique musical styles of Celtic and French-Canadian music and dance to downtown Randolph.  The gates open at noon for food vendor sales, and four stages of live entertainment will begin at 1PM.

NWF was founded nearly 3 decades ago with the recognition that northern New England, Quebec, and Canada’s Maritime Provinces share a lively cultural heritage brought from the Old World—Ireland, Scotland, and France. NWF is one of Vermont’s most beloved, family-friendly festivals.

More than 30 performers from the U.S. and Canada will perform in covered tents, inside Bethany Church, and in the Chandler Center for the Arts. Featured artists include festival fan-favorite, Cantrip (Scottish music); as well as Katie McNally and Neil Pearlman (Scottish and Cape Breton traditional music); Yann Falquet (Quebec); Triton (BalFolk, Breton, and New England traditions); Séamus Egan Project with native Vermonter Owen Marshall (Irish traditional); and internationally renowned Quebec supergroup, Le Vent Du Nord, will close out the festival in the dance tent.

NWF has nurtured an entire generation of up-and-coming musical talents, and kept the interest in traditional Celtic folk music alive in the region. Case in point is the 5-member Young Tradition Youth Commission and 2021 Young Tradition Vermont Contest Winner Owen Kennedy. Other NWF performers this year include: Dominique Dodge, Emerald Rae, Anthony Santoro, Scott Lemire, Midnight Capers and On the Border.  For updates on performances go www.newworldfestival.com or find us on on Face Book.

The $40 adult festival pass includes all access to music, dance, the food and beverage vendors, family entertainment and kids’ crafts. Festival-going kids ages 11 and under are free, and teen tickets for ages 12-18 are only $12. Advance Sale discounted tickets will be available through Midnight, Friday August 26. They can be ordered at newworldfestival.com or purchased through the Chandler box office at 802-728-9878 x103.

NWF is handicapped-accessible, and the Chandler is equipped with assistive listening devices. A livestream access link will be included with every ticket purchased in case audience members can’t attend the in-person event.
