Friday November 16 in CharlottePete Sutherland introduced one of our favorite youth ensembles this past Friday evening at their Charlotte house concert. “The Irregulars” are certainly becoming one of the most renowned and accomplished. Pete has worked with the group since they were in Elementary school.
Celia Woodsmith (past Young Tradition Weekend contest winner) and her band Della Mae have flown to Pakistan where the band is spreading diplomacy through music with the US State Department/American Music Abroad Program. YTV has begun a collaboration with musicians and dancers from Quebec we’re calling the TradNation Project. It involves 15 musicians and dancers, including 6 young artists, from the Québécois traditional music scene. The only event presentation YTV was involved in this past week was the successful launch of the Music for Sprouts series at Bread and Butter Farm in Shelburne. Chris Dorman did his usual incredible job of making sure people knew about the opportunity, and did some great preparation.
