17 November 2019 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm Seven Stars Center
Just a friendly reminder that we will have our ‘almost-Autumn Equinox’ All-Comers Tunes Jam this Sunday, September 22nd, 4-9PM+ at the Seven Stars Arts Center (5126 VT Rte 14, Sharon, VT 05065 – a ramp and elevator, accessible location)
What is this again? It’s a free, inclusive and relaxed, all ages and levels welcome New England repertoire tunes jam in a democratic, sit-in style (Scottish, French Canadian, Irish, Cape Breton, Scandi, Old Timey etc.) We will go around the circle to allow each person to start a tune/small set or pass on their turn and all folks are welcome to play and work on picking up each tune by ear or sheet.
4 – 6 PM will be a slow jam to allow folks time to pick up tunes and then we will heat up more after ~ Fiddles, mandolins, cellos, guitars, ukuleles, banjos, flutes, accordions, harmonicas, recorders, concertinas, voice, percussion etc… come enjoy a laid-back community music gathering!
* We do encourage folks to bring goodies to share for our food table in the main hall upstairs where we will be playing * Feel free to stop by for as little or as long as you like! Also, dancers and listeners are very welcome as well 🙂
Invite your friends and neighbors to come check it out if you like! RSVPs are appreciated to gauge the numbers, but certainly not required. Questions, comments, concerns, philosophical musings? Please don’t hesitate to contact me ~
Also (!) I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to those folks which have been able to donate to Sevens Stars during and after these jams to keep the lights on and these events free charge for all – many thanks to you!
Finally, the next jams of this All-Comers series will continue on the third Sundays into December (all currently 4-9PM+):
Sunday, October 20th (10/20)
Sunday, November 17th (11/17)
Sunday, December 15th (12/15)
I am still reconnecting with many folks after the long summer away in China so I hope to jam with you and swap tales of our adventures soon!
