7 March 2020 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm The Garage Cultural Center
The Bee’s Knees, my first solo album, is out of the box and ready to share. It’s been an exhilarating and humbling experience to practice and record some of my favorite tunes and musical memories. The album features both contemporary and long-established fiddle tunes from the Scottish tradition as well as original compositions, a lullaby, and modern American music. I’m joined by mega-talented friends Michael Ayles, Simeon Chapin, Hollis Easter, Aaron Marcus, Mikaela Moore, Katie Trautz, Julia Wayne, and Nicholas Williams. Recording is by Colin McCaffrey, cover art is by Maralina Moore, photography by Adam Blair, and graphic design by Dana Dwinell-Yardley.
Co-produced by Nicholas and I, this album makes me happy, proud, and nervous all at the same time. Please join me to celebrate its launch!
The Bee’s Knees Album Launch Concert
6pm. Doors open at 5:30pm.
Tickets are on a sliding scale, available in advance via Eventbrite or at the door.
Snacks will be available. Bring a bit of cash for beer and wine (and CDs!). Try out this unique downtown Montpelier venue, listen to some new music, and catch a step dance or two by yours truly.
At the moment, the album is for sale in person or via my website contact form (by check-then-regular-old-USPS). Digital downloads and online purchases are coming soon via Bandcamp.
Aaron and I will also play tunes from both of our albums on Friday, January 24, 6pm, at Rabble Rouser on Main Street in Montpelier as part of the Spice on Snow festival.
