What’s the sound of Vermont? Maybe it’s the acoustic picking of Jamie Masefield, Doug Perkins, and Tyler Bolles. Jamie and Doug have performed together for over 25 years, playing jazz and bluegrass influenced music in an original, intuitive manner that sets itself apart from Nashville and West Coast styles. Known as the creator of The Jazz Mandolin Project, Masefield “is challenging the notion of what the mandolin can do,” according to Jazz Times Magazine. Perkin’s debut album, Music for the Flat Top Guitar, was voted “Best Instrumental Album of 2013.” The most noteworthy element of their playing has always been their unique ability to mesh and make a singular sound with seemingly effortless interaction. Shows often include music by Miles Davis, Bill Monroe, Django Reinhart and Antonio Jobim.
