Scottish Fish are a Boston based fiddle and cello group whose youthful enthusiasm, unique arrangements, and original compositions have entertained audiences throughout New England and beyond. Members are Ava Montesi, Caroline Dressler, Giulia Haible, Julia Homa and Maggie MacPhail. Their performances of traditional and contemporary Scottish and Cape Breton music are woven together from years of fiddle camp and session music handed down from generations of the tradition’s finest players. They have performed at the Boston Celtic Music Festival, Somerville and Arlington Porchfests, Boston’s Earthfest, Club Passim and various other public and private venues. They released their first album in 2017 and are releasing a holiday EP in December of 2019, which was inspired by the great response their show at Club Passim in Boston last December, featuring original arrangements of holiday tunes in the Celtic style.
While in Vermont they will also be appearing at Edmunds Elementary School on Friday afternoon, a rug concert at Burlington Violin Shop Saturday morning, and Burlington Farmer’s Market and Radio Bean on Saturday afternoon.
They have performed at Club Passim again this year, and will be bringing their music and the album to Vermont on 12/20/19.
