Welsh Tunes class with Sarah Hotchkiss

28 April 2020
7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
on line

I have scheduled an online Welsh Tunes class for Tuesdays in April at 7:30 pm on Zoom. I’ll be teaching Welsh fiddle tunes at a moderate speed so this class will be good for intermediate level players, though anyone can listen in that is interested. I’ll be accepting donations for the class on paypal, but you can participate for free if you’d like. I want to make the option available to anyone who is looking for this sort of thing to do but who has also lost all or part of their income — so no worries at all if you participate and can’t make a donation at this time. I’m sure enough will be able to so that it’ll be fine for me…

The format is simple. You’ll sign on with the URL and code and password that I send to you. I will send it to anyone who registers with me through this elist. Feel free to pass on the information about this class but, for security reasons, once I give you the URL and code please do not post it anywhere, thanks! When you “join” the meeting you will be muted and out of view. It will be up to you as to whether or not you want to unmute or be seen by others in the class. I will play each tune that I’m going to teach at a moderate speed and then teach it two bar phrase by two bar phrase, call and response style. You’ll only hear me, and not others in the class, as you’ll all be muted during the playing sections. We can unmute to discuss problem areas of the tune or questions, etc. The class will last for about an hour and I’ll do one every Tuesday evening in April. You may sign on part way through and do not have to sign up for every class and can leave the class early if you wish. If for some reason I have to cancel, I’ll notify those who register in advance.

Thanks! I hope you will enjoy this and participate! (I hosted a Slow Jam last night and 16 people participated! It went really well and there will be another one every other Wednesday, for now, at 7:30 pm. )

Let me know if you have any questions or would like to register!
