The Young Tradition Touring Group consists of teen players, singers and dancers who focus on learning and performing traditional music and dance repertoire over the course of 9 months, starting in September and ending in early May at the 2019 Young Tradition Festival, including an April performance tour. The group is visiting New York and New Jersey in 2019. Group members learn from and are supported by a group manager, artist leaders and guest artists, in addition to exchanges with master artists, other young musicians and dancers, and organizations while on the performance tour.
The group is supported by artist leaders Pete Sutherland and Jeremiah McLane, youth leader Addison White & managers Mark Sustic & Oliver Scanlon. The 2018/2019 Young Tradition Touring Group includes 27 auditioned members ranging in age from 12 to 19. Though most Touring Group members are from throughout Vermont, the group also includes members from Massachusetts and the Adirondacks in New York State.
This performance will feature sets by the artist leaders and the Touring Group.
